The tradition of reading the Bible literally and considering every verse in it as ‘the word of God’, as inviolable and perfect, is in many ways the product of evangelical Christianity, which is a form of Christianity that has its roots, historically, in the 18th century. Catholicism - traditional Catholicism - for instance, does not treat the Bible in the same way; its own tradition of reasoning through the Bible and interrogating it intellectually is a much earlier tradition than the unquestioning, literal interpretation of the Bible evangelicals are (I think) guilty of. That’s something to think about, I think, and lends weight to the assertion that Christians need to read the Bible in context, as a document rooted in its own social circumstances and history. Good job on this podcast.
thanks a lot Ken :)

Good episode, I wonder what the other religions got to say about homosexuality, I know in hinduism there are gods that are both male and female and even a god that was made by two males(one turned female to do the do). And since this probably was way before christanity was created im sure there were gays then already. Well yea i guess we just have more and more questions that are hard to answer. Well you both are doing great podcasting, keep it going!
